This collection is named Hamadryads due to their connection with the forest. Hamadryads were shy but fierce protectors of the trees the inhabited, just like the Dryads. The difference between the two is that the Hamadryads were so entwined with their trees and such an integral part, that if the tree they were incorporated with were to perish, the nymph would perish along with it. The paintings in this collection not only give off those deep feelings of intimacy that a forest can produce but also a sense of loyalty, devotion and love enduring.
