Lauren Head is an Atlanta based artist. She is completely self taught and has been cultivating her artistry in her abstract style for the past year. Her medium of choice, acrylic, is applied in its different states with her main focus on its fluid form. The process that her art showcases and that she consistently employs, is the practice of coalescing the fluid acrylics naturally as well as manually manipulating the process through alternative means, such as air or unconventional tools. The fact that there is no right and wrong but only feeling and emotion within abstract art is why she naturally gravitated to this style of painting. With each piece she simply begins with a feeling, thought or memory and never has an ending point in sight. By creating like this she allows the painting to bring forward its own meaning, voice and soul. Each piece is able to develop their own story and come to its own natural conclusion. Through the journey she is taken on when creating each piece, she is able to choose meaningful names that allude to the feelings she felt and what she wants to convey, whilst also leaving room for interpretation and allowing the viewer to travel through each painting and their own psyche to arrive at their own ending.
