With this painting I used different shades and tones of green, fading from dark to light, creating a focal point that brings you to the center of the piece. With pulling the focal point to the center, it guides the viewer to see the painting in its entirety and feel the soul of the painting instantaneously. Once the painting has been viewed in its entirety, you are then able to travel around the painting taking in the details where I used the different tones of green to create a base for the pale and light pinks to make a statement for this piece. These lighter contrasting colors make the painting feel as if it is blossoming right before your eyes, while the subtle additions of gold throughout bring it character and soul.
The use of symmetry in this painting helps to wrap the viewer in the beauty and vitality of nature and creates a rhythm when exploring this painting to where you will find something new with each view. I named this painting after the Celtic mother goddess who represents the Earth, fertility and wisdom. I chose this name due to the journey that I was taken on and the feelings I felt while creating it. I felt as if I was being enveloped within a secret garden full of blossoming flowers and new life all around. To me the soul of this piece brings a sense of security, wisdom and devotion and I hope to translate that to viewers.
