There has always been a strong connection between the moon and the human psyche. For me the moon has always brought about feelings of rejuvenation and resurgence and is exactly why this painting received the name it did. I named this piece after a minor moon goddess whose name translates to ‘She who washes away pain’.
While looking at this piece, the background fading from the cyan into the midnight blue, it feels as if you are standing under the moon with it shining down but on you and you alone. The ribbons of the light blue coalescing with the dark teals and midnight blue create contrast and depth and act as if moon beams themselves are wrapping you within its beauty and curative powers. The gold accents throughout the beam bring an essence of soul renewal and a quality of ease, while also bringing texture within the painting. If there is one thing that I hope is universally conveyed through this piece, it would be that the feeling of comfort, ease and a sense of revitalization.
